Laura Norton 

Patron and Trustee, appointed February 2023

Laura is an actress known mainly for her role in British television's 'Emmerdale' on ITV.  Drawing on the personal experiences following the diagnosis of Laura and Mark's two children with Usher syndrome, Laura knew she had to join the team at Cure Usher and champion the 'Story of US' campaign.

From the start of their journey, Laura has felt very passionately about the work that Jo and Steve do, with a strong sense that they all share the same goal that the charity endeavours to achieve.  

It is vitally important to Laura that others who live with the condition, friends and family around them too are made aware that they are not alone. She believes we can continue to build a community and offer support and optimism.

With more than twenty years in the arts and entertainment industry, she feels her skill set is perfectly suited to help create a buzz for big fundraising opportunities and to help spread awareness across a wide platform, all with the aim toward funding a cure and to generate a resolute hope for the future of those who live with Usher syndrome.
