It’s a worrying time for everyone due to COVID-19, and CUREUsher feels it is important to ensure that accessible information is provided so everyone is kept informed of the facts and the necessary precautions that must be taken in order to delay and reduce the spread of COVID-19.

Below we have shared a few links for both UK and Ireland followers, including links for BSL (British Sign Language) and ISL (Irish Sign Language) videos. We are also sharing a video showing the correct way to wash your hands which also contains audio description as well as captions making it accessible for the visually impaired/blind and for those with hearing loss.

We all have a responsibility to play our part to slow the spread which will help to โ€œflatten the curveโ€ and lessen the pressure on the healthcare system. What can you do to play your part?

– Wash your hands properly and frequently
– Practice social distancing, stay up to 2m/6ft from other people
– Stay at home where possible
– Practice good cough and sneeze hygiene
– Avoid handshakes and hugs when meeting people

During this time, we also urge everyone to look out for each other, and to be kind. Itโ€™s a situation that is affecting everyone greatly. If you’re in a position to help someone especially those who are in a vulnerable position please don’t hesitate to offer them your help. The uncertainty and worry at this time is causing anxiety levels to increase but a little bit of kindness and help can go a long way to ease this.

If you have any concerns or worries in regards to Usher syndrome and COVID-19 please don’t hesitate to get in touch via email at We are here for you, and we will continue to remain active online during this time. Stay safe and look out for each other during this time.
